I'm trying to alter my review style for the books that I've read. Because for as long as the blog has been active it has been taking longer to review a book than it takes to actually read it.
This is partially perfectionism and partially compulsiveness. I need to rid myself of one or both of those.
I'm still going to take alot of time on the Fantasy Masterworks posts. Because I think they really deserve it and I'd like to get into the meat of why a book should be considered a Fantasy Masterwork. And I like accrueing knowledge about this genre.
But the rest has simply got to be cut back.
My book reading has been dwindling too much and I'd love to get it back up a bit. There's too much good fiction being left by the wayside.
I'd like to keep the self-made blurb up. For the rest, it's an ongoing process of figuring it out as I go along. Different books will merit different responses I suppose.
As with anything, nothing is constant.
ReplyDeleteIt nice to see that you're still looking for evolution, in order to elevate your blog to an even higher standard.
I am happy, as I enjoy reading your posts, and envious at the same time, as I myself seem to be stuck in the stage of stylistic stagnation.
Keep up the good work, mate!
